A Little Respect....

NOt supposed to be here.... didnt really study much the whole day....

Anyway, just writing to comment... that SG is not a good place to age (grow old), at least not for now....

Why? Some time ago, came across this article in one of the EL papers, cant really remember the title or wat, but it was abt how elderly ppl spend their weekends, that one elderly couple had their child commenting that they had "no life"... and then the author wrote how the couple attempted to go and to get a life.... and ending up facing long queues, huge crowds everywhere, and ended up doing wat they normally do; rent something home and spent weekends watching movies & stuff...

And the article set me thinking, that its not nice to grow old here... in the midst of all the hustle and bustle... and i do feel a lil guilty, that I'm part of it... everytime I'm in a rush, and I do get impatient with commuters who are not as fast as me... but that aside, everywhere we see that a lot of stuff are not meant for older ppl... I cant imagine myself taking public transport, when I can already can motion sickness from all the jerking on buses even now, and all the squeezing on public transport.... I cant remember when I had the chance to sit down on the MRT... medical expenses are so expensive, being neglected by children due to busy schedules, early retirement, been seen as a burden.... and the young are apathetic enuff to criticise that their elders have 'no life'... well, I wait to hear wat the same ppl will say when they get old (not like I know them, but you get the point...); and maybe, choosing to say at home isn't such a bad thing esp during weekends; its simply too crowded... I used to think bad of ppl who wanna retire to Down Under or somewhere else; now I see the rationale....

Had dinner with Dear at the JW market; nice fish soup....

Signing off......... All I wanna do, is to Grow Old with you.....
