The Band Camp Before Christmas @ RH/CFA - Day 2

First of all, thanks Dear for the chat last nite; very nice way to end Day 1 chatting with you!!! Thanks also to Ms diTz for her encouraging tag, and for saying that lunch today was better hehe; yeah dun worry I'm doing great, and really feel like trashing up the chinese food stall haha... =)

Hmmmm just got bathed... Recap wat has happened...

My alarm was set at 8am; dragged myself up at 845am after falling in and out of sleep; lucky only 2-3 ppl at Audi for breakfast at 9... set up the 'breakfast booth' hehe; luckily 3 big loaves of bread were gone by 10am, if not tml's breakfast would have a lot of leftovers... Nutella's almost finished...

Did some errands, and then it was sectionals; was in Studio 1, then kena chased out into storeroom... practised some songs with Tuba section, and didnt know Dr. M sat in throughout the whole Folk Song Suite... some malu...

Lunch today was better, but still below par... was late for quintet pratice cos I was settling some stuff for the renovation; oh yah, did i say that i was asked to help out temporarily for the renovation next week? hehe, some extra income coming!!! =) anyway, still could not catch some parts of the Hallelujah Chorus; gonna spend some time tml on that, if i can find the time... Meanwhile the rest were busy with games, and Nick, well, he's the Superman of the camp lah; doing programme booklet in 2 days?! (bear in mind how tedious it is to use Photoshop and the weird regulations that CFA has regarding these publicity materials...) In between he has to take kare of welfare, attend sectionals, help me out in carrying lunch and dinner, getting acocmodation settled, and just now, zipping out of sch and back just to get Syai the Pi Pa Gao for his sore throat... I guess I would have collapsed if I were his in shoes... Of course, Jinyang also helped me out quite a lot for these past few days, and so did Rachel, Jianyong and a lot more ppl....

After dinner, we were arranged to play our 3 pieces for the band, and boy, that was my rendition of those songs! Sheeks! didnt play for like 20 bars for Hallelujah?! (maybe even more!!!)... During pratice itself, I was quite 'soft' already; whole day spent playing the trombone... hehe, long time since i last felt like this, but i think its ok, training stamina eh? Ate the last dinner box during break, and felt more recharged for the rest of the day... AFter practice, I just went to Clementi to get one more loaf of bread for tml's breakfast, then its back to room 2-304 ahha....

Oh yah, half of our repertoire were Christmas songs, and some are arranged a la modern style; when i was walking past the RH carpalk en route to bus stop, there was this congregation of singers, this conductor and this 'background staff' (she was standing behind holding to some stuff) all in t-shirts, shorts and slippers; found it funny until they started singing their christmas song... suddenly, all went calm within me, and Christmas songs seem so effortlessly magical, simple, watever-oyu wanna-describe... not preaching here, but you get wat i mean... that was one of the highlights of the day...

Signing off....... Approaching the Final Lap......
