年兽还没被吓走

过年。每年的初一，初二似乎都过得特别忙，特别快，也因为过于放纵地啃过节零食而罪孽感特别的重。

过节，也有责任要背负。也有人，事物，言语要去应酬。不是不能尽情地享受佳节的气氛，团圆的感觉，而是觉得一个人要达到每个人的期望还真有点"requiring a herculean or superhuman effort"嘞。或许自己内功还没练到第N层的最高境界吧。

过年，过得并没有上述的那么糟。尤其是那时迎接新年前的那一晚。真感谢，也抱歉。

过节，不忘回味过去一年所发生的事。只觉得很幸运结交了一些好友（中学的，大学的，管乐团的，尤其是长号小组的）；因为大家庭失去了一个成员而伤感，但庆幸其他较亲的家人还健康。希望大家在牛年里健康平安，幸福快乐，一起携手并肩渡过眼前的难关。

过年。我这个年龄还在这几天收到红包，还真有点尴尬。已不是当年的小辈了。。。

过节，就来一罐啤酒和几片肉干吧。。。

Grindin'

Thursday - Band prac, Extreme 2-on-2 (AGAIN! LOL), supper, then back to grad room [It's been quite awhile since the stooges spent the night over together]. Prior to that, some sort of a crisis broke out, and it kinda reminded me of my own crisis a few months ago. Great that there was a bunch of helpful souls around helping out this time round - it's always heartwarming and comforting to know that ppl do care, and care to show they care.

Friday - Stooges bought coffee for me in the morning after failing to wake me up - thanks dudes. Haven had such a long Friday session for quite some time, and I just drifted off towards the end. Headed down south for the (original) Trio's first meeting up in '08. As usual, funny, corny (or maybe only me was corny), polite, as always LOL. Someone's gonna plan a K-session for the next Trio gathering - could I say NO? *grins*



Satruday - Fell asleep in the wee hours amidst the final 20 mins of Il Mare; back in the room after midday to try and grind out something. The weekend seems peaceful...

Sometimes, stuff here is meant to be read light-heartedly; other times, the writings need alot of imagination (and fantasia) to make sense...

This is for a very good friend of mine.

This group of young people, who call themselves Dominant 7th, have gone quite some distance. Check out their website.

In conjunction with the launch of their CD, they are holding two concerts, on the 14th (Friday) and the 15th (Saturday) of December, 2000 hrs, at their church (Queenstown Chinese Methodist Church - extremely easy to locate and convenient, as it's right next to Commonwealth MRT station.).

Their commitment is unparalleled - practices on every other Saturday afternoons, without fail, rain or shine. (Addendum: I mean EVERY SATURDAY AFTERNOON, the time when alot of other people are out there having fun or chillin' out...)

The title of the concert ("Till the Storm Ceases") kinda depicts the arduous journey that the group has come thus far.

So, if you are interested in Christian Contemporary Choral pieces, and wanna show your support for this group of passionate and aspired young people, don't procrastinate - click on the poster picture above for contact details (Tickets are free).

But I'm glad Friday nite was possible. HK cafe @ Katong Village, then ECP. And some early well-wishes too!

And Eric Moo concert just now was simply awesome! Well, the songs were anyway. Hearing the whole MAX Pavillion break into the Encore song - it was simply breathtaking. Machiam like he was teasing the thousands who came for 3+ hours just to hear them break into unison for the final number.

The definitive songs in life are those who remain there - at the back of your head - even when everything else has become dust.

Friday

Farewell party for out-going boss. Well, technically, not a farewell, cos he's still boss, but one with a higher title (read: Promotion). LOL.

Headed down to Tangs Orchard after work to get the farewell gift, and then to Lavender to get the mini eclairs and cream puffs from Partytime. Boy, they are one of the best yum-yums I've ever had in a long time. Highly recommended for any joyous occasion.

Somehow, after exactly a year, my work life seems to have gone a complete circle. The one who had interviewed me is back, I'm starting work with a brand new team, and all my mentors have been reassigned. It's been a great year at work, might probably be my happiest stint working so far and for a long time, and I'll surely dread the day when I have to leave. Yet, it seems that I'll need to give this up in order to move on... I've never imagined that it'll be so tough to let go... but then, letting go is never easy.........

Warm nights are never great - I could only sleep when dawn had arrived.

The Trio met up for dinner @ Suntec Mouth Restaurant, then chilled at Gloria Jean's. Dinner was superbly sumptuous and over-filling, but GJ's left much to be desired. Passed the Italian postcards and bookmark to ZW, and the chocs to both of them, but forgot all about the lemon sorbet thingy! So SOTONG! ('_____________' """)

The evening flew by before I had even knew it, but we made plans for another gathering in the near future. SING! =D

It had worsened - bedtme was 7am.

Headed towards ECP to meet the two gals in my section for some bike action before the (Surprise) BBQ...

...but ended up not biking. Fate seems to have decreed that there's no easy way for me to get/do the things I want.

Then the unimaginable happened - it rained, albeit for just a while.

Some weird phenomenon - strange lights beneath the clouds - probably due to the weird weather.

Some really strong and lasting fire that ensured the spare coals were left untouched.



I guess everything turned out fine, despite the passing showers in the beginning and towards the end. It was a pretty hilarious sight on board as two hunks and a lass packed themselves tighter than a can of sardines into the front seat. A bonus: an impromptu 60% section supper @ Al-Ameen.

Came home to find that RongC Dreamers are at the top of the Thugs Championship mini-league for the first week of the Fantasy League. Well, at least I have a week of boasting rights hah.
