Yeah, Cant believe I actually slept through the worst natural disaster probably in my lifetime (I hope there arent anymore...); its so terrifying, that the full scale impact of the incident may never really be found out, and thousands of ppl gave their last breath beneath the shattering earth, roaring waves and sweeping currents, never to be found or identified... amidst of all these, we, at the centre of it all, still went about our routines. albeit for ththe numerous families whose members were dead/missing/uncontactable in the aftermath of the quakes and tsunamis... sometimes, a time machine ala-Back to the Future can do wonders; in this case, damage and casualties could be minimal... and for those who call it an act of God, there are others who feel that the Almighty shouldnt be blamed, especially for such an event that caused such an impact on so many ppl of various nationalities, religions and cultures...
Just came back from the Countdown at Boon Lay with Dear; had a wonderful time as we managed to spend our first year end countdown together hee... earlier on in the day, we went to Cafe Cartel to have lunch, and wat a fulfilling lunch, with the free flow bread haha... then went back to Jurong before I went for the gathering at Pam's house. Met up with the majority of them at BPP, bought lots of food (KFC, Fruits, Ice cream, Sushi...) and ordered pizza, which i would later miss... Pam's house was so nice! Nice interior decor and furnishing... so envious of her and her husband hehe... then left quickly at ard 835pm after drawing my belated present for 2004 and met up with Dear to go to Boon Lay... walked around and saw the booths set up by her sec sch... bought 2 rings and some wrist straps... had a crispy spicky chicken fillet, and I swear that those 'Xiang Ji Pa' back in Ex Starlight in Taiwan (3 for NT100, approx $5) were much bigger and better than those $3.50/$4 imitation stuff you find here hehe; in short, go Taiwan (taipei/Hsingchu) to try if you have the chance...
Met Auntie and Dear's frens ard 11, then decided to move away from the centre of activity and stayed outside 7-11 while the countdown was going on, then after that, the two of us went for supper at the Power! Nasi Lemak stall hehe... though this time round, it was not as good... then Dear came to my house to wait for her dad and bro to be done before going home....
Highlight of the Day: Certainly, it was being able to walk, no wait, stroll and stand in the middle of the road for the whole evening, cos police blockaded the roads along where the countdown took place... no squeezing, no "excuse me", no sweaty bodies and best of all, we have all the time in the world to admire lightings and happenings... cool! =) Thanks Dear for the evening!!! *HUGZ!*
Signing off........ 2005 hopefully will be a better year than 2004.........
