Down: Social Thought in Language

Finally, at a day where probably 10-20% of NUS undergraduates are enjoying the start of their Summer Holidays, I have just embarked on my papers; cleared Social Thought in the evening just now; had spent the last 2 days "befriending" Bakhtin, Bourdieu and Butler, especially Bakhtin, whom I have neglected since the beginning of the semester... And I boldly summoned Bakhtin to answer my compulsory question! Luckily I was able to cough out just about ample stuff to fill 4 pages; the comparison between Butler and Bourdieu was slightly less successful though; Butler's performativity isn't so applicable it seems... ANyway EL4251 is tough in terms of readings and thinking, but it provided me with a couple of concepts in which broadened my mind regarding society and construction of identity using language...

Had dinner with Galvin, his gf (priscillia?) and her cousin; sort of felt weird cos I only knew Galvin, though I had conversed with his gf regarding the Entreprenuerial Marketing; turned out that she's in the evening class.... studied at the library (so cold, but better than the blistering weather...), and checked my CA for Language and the Internet', which wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be, especially the Individual Project and Group Project... then went to KAP to meet Dear and then back home we went....
