Journey to the East on Boxing Day - Ubin, Tampines

Woke up late for the trip cos the weather was bad... bad for an outing that is. Gloomy and drizzling. Met up with Dear at 9 plus on the east-bound train. Her Neeon player decided to become cranky and hung on her; had to try to find something delicate and thin enough to press what was thought to be the Reset button for the player to be able to be switched off and on again. Reached Tampines, and it seemed that the area had undergone another facelift. Alomst couldn't find the bus interchange (yes, not the bus stop...), took the bus and half an hour later, we were at Changi Village. After a quik brunch of carrot cake, we went to take the bumboat and headed for..... the Granite Island....

Went on to rent our bikes and begin our cross country biking adventure! Unfortunately, the brakes of the bike which Dear had were gone half an hour into the expedition. Went backt o the jetty to change for a better bike. We were cycling for maybe 2 hours plus (???) with a few stops along the way, to watch ppl fishing, buy drinks... other times we were pushing our bikes along the upslopes or rocky trails, or taking photos, just like...

As can see, my sweat pores are at work again, though I should had been drenched in sweat instead of jsut a portion of my shirt...

Surprise No. 1 of the day was that we bumped into Yoke Hee, the fresh(wo)man from Euphonium Section in NUSWS. She sort of like screamed/shouted "Why are you here?", in a manner that I have never seen her before; during practices, she's always the cool quiet sort...

Went back to one of the "restaurants" on the island to have lunch. Fried rice and bee hoon cooked in hor fun style was no bad, extra seafood-y... after lunch, it was decided that the expedition shall continue on another day, where we would perhaps visit Chek Jawa, and maybe I could go further up the slope that we turned back to see what's up there. Also promising enough would be the farms and the other animals (read: wild boars, otters, horseshoe crabs, etc...) that we had failed to see today...

Went back to CV and subsequently Tampines; went to Century Square and took Neocards =) Dear managed to get a pair of bottoms which was on 50% discount. Meanwhile I continued to keep tabs on my probable outfit for SQ's wedding dinner on the 8th Jan 06. The top is more or less fixed; the bottom should be either jeans or pants (duh. Guys. what else hor?). Task: Need to go mend my shoes!

Proceeded to Tampines Mall. Surprise No. 2: Met Roland inside Isetan, plus his beau. After the long day, Dear's feet simply became painful, and we headed to Cafe Cartel; utilised her Student Priviledge card and had a fruitful dinner...

..... Waiting for dinner, and the camera was in my hands again, so.... *SNAP*.....
